Chris Goffey reviews the BMW ALPINA B10 3.5 and discusses ALPINA and relationship with Sytner
Does anyone have a Getrag 290 for sale?
BMWs always age well
I wouldnt want a car dealer making my car, I'd want it direct from the factory.
I have a Sytner Built B10 3.5 , its a great car i love every minute j spend driving it , 😁
Dont think Alpina in Buchloe were building many right hand drive cars if any in 1988 , thats the reason Sytner were given permission to do the conversions in Nottingham , in 1988 you had 2 options , buy your Alpina from Sytner or buy another car and live out the rest of your days wishing you had gone to Sytner 😁
Quality... from a guy that dislikes German cars.
No fluffing, no hesitation.
But I like to get fluffed!
Chris get off the bonnet of that E30!
F111 HCH has been untaxed since April 2011 and it’s last MOT ran out in March 2015 - I hope it’s still alive somewhere!
Alpina was and still is the ultimate combination: the body of a luxury limousine and the heart of a super car. Fantastic!
1:53 dangerously low
260HP is indeed a hairy-chested car but it is nothing "super" by today's standards, 30 years later.
Times change. The McLaren F1 was once the world's fastest car but not anymore.
Love the jumper!
6.5 - 100km/h supercar performance :D:D:D got me dying, god old times
Methinks it was actually a bit quicker than that but yes... 30 years is a long time folks. My '88 535is is a complete dog by comparison at 7.5 but I don't mind. The BiTurbo ran 4.9, about level with a Countach.
88’ dude a Ferrari Mondial did the same time...
VnuReo lol yep my little 1 series coupe smokes that now stock standard
Awesome, thank you for posting!
Nice jumper/beard combo Chris!!!
F960MJH - it's MOT expired in 2012 and it's not been taxed since 2003 (Not quite sure why it was MOT'd but untaxed). I wonder if the car survives somewhere in a lockup or garage.
Might of been driven on trade plates to the mot centre
It does yes.
I may be doing this wrong but in today's terms that would be about $160k in USD if you look at the pound before Brexit
try before black wednesday lol
BMWs will only be for the Rich after Brexit.
Yeah, I looked it up a while ago and a 535i was something around 147k USD today, and if he said it was 13 thousand pounds more at the time that makes sense.
This is 1988 - the car is a 1988 registration and he mentions that the E34 was launched "this summer". The E34 was launched in the UK in June '88 :)
1998? That is a typo, is it not? 1988?
morsch 98 is an e39 not e34
+morsch haha, that´s what I thought, too !
Just to think there are diesels now that can blow that performance out the water lol
My 335d certainly would.... but I miss my tuned 535i sport, it was near enough an alpina spec engine in it....
